João Abbott-Gribben

I’m a writer and artist based in London, I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2013 with a Fine Art MA.

My art practice looks at paint, pattern, architecture and optical illusions. I use poured paint, computer software, projectors and laser cutters to create paintings, sculptures, digital prints, light boxes and animations. My most recent commission was ‘Portal IV’, an installation for Gottwood Electronic Music & Arts Festival.

My last writing project ‘Jack Lavender: Yugen’ was an experimental take on the artist monograph made in collaboration with artist Jack Lavender. It was commissioned by Line Magazine and was picked up by the ICA in their ‘ICA Bookshop Recommends’.
