Our Story

The Yurt Cafe was opened in November 2015 by Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs as part of St. Katharine’s Precinct.  We wanted to create a space that was warm, fun and welcoming to people from all walks of life – and we hope visitors today experience this environment at our Yurt Café.

We’re continuing to develop and improve the yurt all the time, so please check back regularly.

Drop in for tea, craft coffee and delicious wholesome food cooked on site and our brunch menu on the weekend.

We host events in the space including music, poetry, and discussion – find us on Twitter, Facebook or email us to help plan one of our events.

Join us seven days a week for healthy and homemade food, from fresh soups to sandwiches, salads to cakes. Our tea comes as you like it, and our coffee is roasted to perfection in Peckham,
coming to us direct from Old Spike Roastery.
