Event Details

This workshop is a practical introduction into how anybody, at any stage in their life, no matter how busy they are, can carve out that space and in their own way, tap into a creativity that lays dormant and restless amongst the pressures of everyday life. At the heart of this workshop is the philosophy that creativity is both therapeutic and self empowering and that it can be accessed at anytime, no matter your experience or skill level.

On the day we will have a range of materials to help get you started, such as paint and canvas, paper, collage materials and air dry clay. With a focus on easily accessible materials, you will be encouraged, with our guidance, to have fun, make a mess and express yourselves without any expectations. Art is often seen as a huge mountain that at first sight seems very difficult to climb. We will help shrink that mountain and through conversation and experience build your confidence.

The workshop will be led by Richard Blades.

Richard Blades runs community art groups across London and focuses on introducing people to their own creative potential. With compassion and encouragement his aim is to help people remove their own barriers and find a creative confidence that is both transformative and enduring.

All materials provided on the day but if you would like to bring your own, please feel free. No experience or skills needed. This will be a practical session with an integrated conversation.
